These cute rice bubble Easter eggs are simple to make and are always a hit in our household! (They taste yummy too!)
What you’ll need:
This recipe makes approximately 4-5 eggs (depending on how much of the mixture gets eaten along the way!) so you may choose to double or triple it.
– 1 Tbsp butter
– 1 1/2 cups mini marshmallows
– 3/4 cup rice bubbles
– Hundreds and Thousands, sprinkles, chocolate hail etc to decorate
– Plastic egg (optional)
– Cooking spray (if using the plastic egg)
How to make Rice Bubble Easter Eggs:
Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat until the butter has melted.
Add the marshmallows and stir until melted.
Remove from the heat and stir in the rice bubbles. Leave to cool slightly.
Using damp hands, mold the mixture into egg shapes. If you have a plastic egg handy you can use this as a mold.
Spray the inside with cooking spray, then push the mixture into both halves of the egg. Close the egg together, then open and remove the rice bubble Easter egg.
Roll the eggs in hundreds and thousands or chocolate hail to decorate.
Depending on your child’s age, they can help with shaping the mixture, rolling in sprinkles or licking the spoon!
We’ve been making these yummy rice bubble Easter eggs as a special Easter treat for the kids for a couple of years now, and they still love them!
